Coal and Paving

L. G. grew the coal business with the acquisition of a mine in central Iowa in the late 1900's while his son, Hubert Everist, came into the business. Hubert incorporated L. G. Everist, Inc. in 1914 and also introduced a wholesale home-building supply business model. Always looking ahead, he recognized a slowing coal market and looked towards the rapidly growing concrete and paving industries.
