D & I Railroad (aka Dakota & Iowa) is a wholly owned subsidiary of L.G. Everist, Inc., owners of one of the largest privately owned fleets of railroad equipment of any aggregate producer in North America. The D & I operates from Dell Rapids, SD, home of L.G. Everist's largest facility, to Sioux City, IA which is an L.G. Everist transload facility for the distribution of aggregates. The D & I operates via trackage rights over the BNSF Railway between Sioux Falls, SD and Canton, SD and between Elk Point, SD and Sioux City, IA. The D & I also operates a branch line from Hawarden, IA to Beresford, SD.

Interchanges: The D & I interchanges traffic with the BNSF Railway (BNSF), Canadian National Railway (CN) and Union Pacific Railroad (UP) in Sioux City, IA. In addition, the D & I also interchanges with the BNSF in Sioux Falls, SD.
